A Valentine's Day Surprise!

February 14, 2001

What would you say your Valentine's Day was like?  Did someone surprise you with a special gift or visit?  Lindsay was surprised by a surprise visit from Renate and Jeff.  Lindsay describes the surprise.

"I was on the back computer and I heard Ashes (my dog) barking at someone or something.  I thought that it was the man from NES (Nashville Electric Service).  Suddenly I heard my sister yell, ' oh my gosh!'  I didn't know what she was doing or what she saw for that matter, but I thought she had saw something on TV that shocked her.  I started down the hall and got to the living room, and to my surprise there I saw Renate.  I could not believe it."

"To tell you the truth, I thought this Valentine's Day was going to be a little rough.  I don't have a boyfriend and I don't have very many friends, so I thought that it was going to be an ordinary day.  But I was wrong, I got a great gift.  I just wish all the guys (Southbound) were here with Renate and Jeff.  But that's ok, hopefully I'll see them soon!"

Lindsay says that the guys have a lot of new opportunities ahead of them, and she keeps all of them in her prayers.  "I ask everyone to keep these guys, Renate and Jeff in their prayers; cause no one can have to many prayers," Lindsay says with a smile.  "I believe everyone deserves my prayers, cause you never know if your prayer will be the one that helps someone when they need it the most.  :-)

Lindsay spends some quality time with special friends, Southbound!

December 20, 2000

If you think friendship cannot be made in a couple days, Lindsay believes it can.  About six months ago, while at Fan Fair 2000, she introduced herself to Renate and Jeff as well as Kristina and Annie without realizing that she was embarking on a new but lasting friendship.  The next day she was introduced to the six guys of Southbound.  The guys were sweet, charming, and adorably cute, and accepted her as a new friend.  Little did she know either, how special they have become in her life.

At the end of Fan Fair 2000, their good-byes were said and all vowed to keep in touch.  They did keep in touch, even when people around Lindsay said that they would forget her as soon as the left.  She has sent emails to each and everyone of them and just has plain fun talking through the internet.

In the beginning of the month of December, Renate informed her about the guys coming back to Nashville, and the guys wanted to see us.  Lindsay immediately asked when because after six months of not see the guys nor Renate or Jeff, she was anxious to see them.  Later she found out that they were going to be in town on the 16th of December and would stay till the 20th of December.  But Renate and Jeff came in a day earlier than the guys so they would be able to hangout with Lindsay and her sister Kimberly.  Lindsay immediately remembered that the guys had been in Georgia for two weeks and knew they would be exhausted, so she came up with another idea.  She said,

"I immediately knew that the guys would be exhausted and I wanted to figure out something that would brighten up their day when they got into Nashville.  I thought that it would be cool if Kim, my sister, and I could decorate the guys rooms with posters, etc.  I had asked Renate if that would be ok, she said 'Yeah, sure.  The guys would love it!'  So Kim and I had made posters, used some ribbon, balloons, and some candy.  The ribbons were put on the signs/posters, the balloons went on the beds, and the Hershey Kisses candy went on the office desk.  It was perfect!"

The guys got into Nashville around 3 P.M. and the plan was that they would be told that their room keys had already been picked up and to go straight up to the rooms.  But the receptionist ask them if they wanted two room keys and of course the guys responded, "Sure!"  That blew the whole plan and Lindsay, along with her sister, waited in the room for the guys to arrive.  The guys had got to the door of the room Lindsay and Kimberly were in and were trying to figure out which key it was.  Lindsay describes what happened,

"Both Kim and I were waiting behind the door and were wondering if the guys knew if we were there at the hotel.  Joe opened the door and Kim peaked around the door and stared.  They still didn't see her so she said, 'Hi guys!'  They were all astonished because they didn't expect us to be there.  Joe had thought they were in the wrong room and David was completely frightened.  Mike had talked to his mom earlier, Renate, while we were eating lunch, so he knew that we were there, but thought we were up in Renate and Jeff's room.  I really wish I could have had a picture of that moment."

"But the thing was Joe, Mike and David were there and I asked 'Well where's Gary?' they said he was getting the rest of the stuff.  I opened the door to see if he was out in the hall, there he was and all he could say was, 'Hey what are you doing here?'  I think they thought we had forgot about them," said Lindsay with a smile.

After the guys had settled in Lindsay, her sister Kim, and the guys caught up on what each of them had been up to.  If it was talking about Fan Fair 2000 or looking at pictures.  They had a great time.

Lindsay went to every concert they did in Nashville, TN and in the end the good-byes were just a little harder knowing that it would possibly be another six months before they would see each other again.  "It was a hard thing to do, saying my good-byes because truly they are the older brothers I never had.  Kind of like a second family," said Lindsay with tears in her eyes.

Lindsay asks that you go to Southbound's website to find out more information about the group itself or anything else.

"I love these guys to much and miss them every minute.  They give something to me, and its so hard to explain what that is!  David, Gary, Joe, Mike, Joe C. and Brent - I want to tell you all are something special.  I love you soooo much!"

*To see pictures from each venue, go to In Nashville.*

"If you can DREAM it, you can make it happen!"
